Welcome!
The Violence Prevention Technical Assistance Center (VPTAC) serves as a training and technical assistance (TTA) hub for all health departments and domestic violence coalitions receiving funding from the Prevention Practice and Translation Branch (PPTB) in the Division of Violence Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). VPTAC’s TTA providers include PPTB staff (e.g., project and evaluation officers) and VPTAC staff at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and Futures Without Violence.
VPTAC serves the following PPTB-funded recipients:
- Rape Prevention and Education (RPE)
- Essentials for Childhood
- Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) Impact
- Preventing Violence Affecting Young Lives (PREVAYL)
- Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences: Data to Action (PACE:D2A)
VPTAC addresses sexual violence, child abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence (including teen dating violence), and youth violence in a coordinated fashion. The goal is to help recipients accomplish program-specific requirements and promote comprehensive, crosscutting approaches to violence prevention.
VPTAC works closely with other TTA providers currently funded by PPTB—PreventConnect and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC)—to ensure that all TTA is well coordinated, aligned, and complementary.
